Cynthia de Lorenzi Cynthia de Lorenzi is a Public Speaker, successful Entrepreneur and prolific Social Networker, originally from Texas, now based in Washington DC.

She’s also the wonderful Southern belle, that in a unique sequence of events, catalyzed the birth of The Connections Show - following an introduction to Vint Cerf, a prominent figure (who is frequently referred to as ‘The Father of the Internet’) - and himself a recent guest on The Connections Show.

Connections #053 - A Victim of Identity Theft Speaks Out

Marc FreedmanMarc Freedman is a larger-than-life entrepreneur & businessman from Dallas, Texas. He’s also one of the world’s most prolific online networkers. According to TopLinked.com, he’s currently #6 on LinkedIn worldwide, with over 32,000 First Level Connections.

So it was surprising to learn that despite being a sophisticated and net-savvy Internet user, Marc was recently the victim of Identity Theft - losing control (for a short but crucuial period) of his Facebook account.

As a result, a devious financial scam was perpetrated in his name, drawing in a number of unsuspecting victims, before being brought inder control.

Amongst many other achievements, he, together with Robert Kahn, were winners of the Turing Award for 2004. They were both also inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in May 2006, for their pioneering work on developing the Internet’s basic communications protocols.
