This week’s guest is Cynthia de Lorenzi - successful entrepreneur & personal contact of the legendary Vint Cerf (co-inventor of the Internet & Chief Internet Evangelist at Google) - and a wonderful lady who was intrumental in introducing me to Vint, in a unique series of events that culminated in the creation of this Podcast show.
Cynthia is a real inspiration. In addition to running her many businesses, Cynthia also operates Success In The City, a Business Networking group for female entrepreneurs & businesswomen - and is the eptiome of what it means to be an Open Networker, ready & willing to help others succeed.

Technology has played a vital role in my career over the last 30 years and now to be part of the emergence is fantastic. Social and business networking maybe part of the tipping point to permit individuals to produce not only their work but as James T. Kirk might have said: “To go where no one has gone before”. Brilliant sample! Very informative and a nice insight into Cynthias frame of mind. A confirmation of what some or even many of us had tucked away in the back of our minds. Social networking seems to be in the early adaption phase and is slowly but steadily gaining ground.

Wow that was a really great interview! I found Cynthia’s story to be amazing. She has lots of good ideas. Her “Success in the City” is on it’s way to being a success I’m sure. Maybe LinkedIn could have a similar idea for User Experience professionals.
And I’m now curious to find out what “twitter” is all about.

Enjoyed the interview with Cynthia - thanks for sending a reminder. Social networking works for me - I’ve found people when needed and received answers to questions as required.
I’m wondering how language will limit the future of social networking. Maybe a topic for a future interview. Will some future technology allow me to effectively expand my network beyond my english boundaries?

Another great show…
Cynthia you described yourself as a “serial entreprenuer.” After hearing how you leverage social networking and your belief in convergence and the internet as a conduit–it makes sense why you are so successful.
The side conversation on learning from the younger Millenial Generation and how to watch them for the next big idea or how they use technology was also interesting. Tweeter?? or Tweater?? seems to be the in-thing to use. And, the comment of MySpace being like an online address book for teenagers makes sense.
Like many successful entreprenuers–Cynthia has the uncanny ability to take a simple concept and turn it into money making opportunity.

Thanks for sharing this - that was a great podcast - Cynthia was fascinating to listen to - I find this social networking aspect to the Internet so interesting right now - things seem to be happening so quickly with limitless business applications and plenty of people prepared to share their ideas and knowledge.
