Great listening……..yes trust and security is a global issue both in the workplace and on your mobile computing device. We also can do more to reduce our global footprint as the guys have pointed out.

This is a great “rubber meets the road” podcast. Thanks to Jeff for his time and insights in the new interactive media and their application in global companies like Cisco. Key results via collaboration and real time productivity is what I seek to apply in my space as a PMP on IT project.
It is a credit to the top down management at Cisco to shift business strategic tools via engaging and educating their users in these new tools to benefit their consumers and shareholders.
Cheers,

Hi Stan,
Another brilliant podcast. Thank you Jeff for sharing. There are several business benefits to web-based social networking that were mentioned that struck a chord with me. As you know I recently arrived in Melbourne without any network at all, and the following are some of the key things that have added tremendous value to me as a Transformation Catalyst:
-Information sharing (even Intellectual Property) globally
-Collaboration by multiple parties to achived similar objectives
-Transformation of individual and company culture and ethos
-Greater resource as a knowledge repositiory
-Awesome way to test and share ideas
-Critical platform to bridge generational gaps between Millenials, X-Y’s, and Boomers
-Virtual meetings via IM achieve a high level of producitvity and assist is driving efficiency ratio’s
Call me biased, but the social networking has gone beyond just being a tool, it is now becoming an art.
That’s significant!
Warm regards,
Justin

An important and informative conversation, Stan and Jeff. The internet is collaboration. Its power comes from joining things up and sharing. Nothing is definitive with the internet either. What’s popular now will be superceded unless it has “open” attributes. I was interested to find out how Cisco Systems is evolving as a company. I would like to see a demo of “TelePresence” to see how it shapes up against the competition.

Hi Stan,
Very topical and insightful disucssion – traces a cycle of idea that was ahead of its time, as society was not able to absorb the idea and then how does the idea takes life, with people able to see it making their life simpler and easier – helps us to rediscover of the basic of society – collaboration.
Best Regards

Just listened to this episode again after hearing about Cisco’s recent Holographic Telepresence presentation – see my blog story http://connecthoughts.blogspot.com/2008/07/cisco-telepresence-on-stage-holographic.html
I must say that although Jeff’s interview was conducted six months ago, the message and insights are still as relevant as ever.
Worth another listen..
