Connections #025 - Rebuilding a Network from Scratch
Marc Freedman is CEO and founder of the DallasBlue Business Network - and a wild Texas entrepreneur who can’t help being a thorn in the side of LinkedIn.com for his diligent evangelism of large networks.
A few years back, Marc was #3 worldwide on LinkedIn, until he was excommunicated for ‘networking too much’ - and forced to rebuild his network again, from scratch.
Despite this, he continues to be a strong LinkedIn supporter - and provides a comprehensive range of free tools and resources for the LinkedIn community, available under the MyLinkFamily brand.
In this interview, Marc discusses the lessons he’s learned from his experiences - and how he’s rebuilt his prominence back to #10, out of nearly 20 million LinkedIn users worldwide.

Hello Stan and Marc,
Great interview, I really enjoyed it. You both touched on some important termonology that I feel many linkedin members will benefit from. The various types of LION’s, open networkers etc that so many members do not fully comprehend or appreciate. I see many people adding the LION to their name line yet they do not have a clue what it means.
I am also thrilled you spoke on email addresses and the need to use the Bcc line. I preach this all the time, yet so few seem to use it. As a result I get emails from people I do not know who have their outlook set up to add our address for anyone they reply to and they hit reply all and now we are in their address book. It is very annoying to say the least.
Marc, I also look forward to being a guest on your call in show. I will get a few dates to you this week.
By the way Stan, I cannot add a digg to this episode. Let me know when that is fixed.
